Funkbot 3000

Our newest episode "Blobtober" came out on Friday. I especially liked this one because I got to do something totally new on this episode. I got a chance to build a full-size robot costume that we put on Travis, the "renaissance man" animator that works on all the music videos. We shot some pictures of him in my costume and then ran it through some effects to get the look that we had in the music video sequence. The whole costume was built out of cardboard, tape and sharpie in just under 3 days. Here's a picture of an early develpment effects pass. Big thanks to Chris Staples and Don Devine for making our videos look so great.

Funky Monkey Background

Every episode has a guest art director who designs the look of the music video. We then take the design concept and run with it. I was lucky enough to design and paint some backgrounds on this one. Kyle Baker was the guest art director on the Funky Monkey music video and as always Andre Benjamin did an awesome job provding us with original music.

Anything he wants.

Last week we aired a great episode, Funky Monkey. It was a good one. This shot is of Sunny Bridges' enormous closet. Momo the gorilla gets into it and destroys a tenth of Sunny's wardrobe.

Amoeba Band

Here's a few characters that I designed for an educational show on PBS called Zula Patrol. I have no idea when it's on. I think it airs on Monday afternoon. It's a fun little show all done in CG that teaches kids about science.

It's Alive! It's Alive!

Here is another BG from the show. It's FrankenNut! This one was painted by the man himself Valerio Ventura, otherwise known as V2 the very talented art director on our show. I'll try to post a background from each show as it airs. Don't miss them. Fridays at 8pm as well as Saturday mornings (of course) and Sundays. The episodes get better and better as the season progresses.

Class of 3000 Premiered

A couple of weeks ago Class of 3000 premeired on Cartoon Network. I've been designing backgrounds for the show this past year. Here are a couple of samples. The design is mine, meaning the composition and all the line work, the color is done by either Roger Luan or Casey Mitchum. They do awesome work. This one was for the premiere episode.
